Drug Testing: Urine or Saliva?

We stock a comprehensive range of fast, reliable and accurate drug and alcohol testing kits. There are two main types of drug tests; those that test urine and those that test saliva. Urinalysis is one of the most economical methods available to test people for drug abuse. However, since it is not always feasible to collect specimens under reliable supervision, there is a high possibility of specimen tampering. Also, urinalysis cannot be used to detect immediate drug abuse. It requires some time for the drug to be ingested by the body. Saliva/Oral Fluid testing has the advantage of being easier to collect and harder to adulterate due to easy supervision. Also, the drugs enter saliva far quicker than they enter urine, so on-the-spot testing of very recent drug abuse is possible. Both systems are extremely easy to use. For the urine tests, simply dip the testing strip into a urine sample to achieve a positive or negative result for a range of drugs within a few minutes. For the Saliva tests, simply insert the sponge-ended test stick into the patient’s mouth to retrieve some saliva.

Alcohol Testing

Most of our alcohol tests, whether a breathalyser or a saliva test, can provide results quickly and accurately. Breathalyser testing should be conducted at least 20 minutes after the last consumption of alcohol. If the patient is smoking you should wait 1 minute after the cigarette has been finished. To ensure accuracy, saliva tests should be conducted at least 15 minutes after placing food, drink or other materials in the mouth.

All of our drug and alcohol tests are sold at competitive prices and there is no minimum order – you can order single quantities should you wish to do so. We also offer free educational support available on request.
